Early spring is a funny time of year. You can feel the days trying to get warmer, but winter just doesn’t want to let go, and returns as soon as the sun begins to fade away each evening.

The sky says it is still day, but the long dark shadows cast upon the houses say that night is nearly here.

The warm air that held the promise of spring during the day, has once again been replaced by winter’s cold grasp as the darkness creeps nearer.

The sun paints colors in the sky as the cold night begins to take over.

Time to race home and hope that this was winter’s last appearance.

  1. Ah, this is such a lovely post. It's so nice having these cool, crisp mornings and slightly warmer days with cool breezes. It's a shame it doesn't last longer because it's probably my favorite time of the year. Things bloom on and off… 🙂

  2. Yay, spring really is on its way. The sky is always provides such an amazing backdrop to early mornings and twilights. Love the color it is over the house.

  3. Beautiful, serene images. There is definitely a duality to the early days of spring, I agree. It's as though they're each keen to hold hands for a little while longer.

    Many hugs,
    ♥ Jessica

  4. I love the moodiness of your photos, I too hope this is winter's last appearance and that summer is on it's way, I'm ready for tat sun! I really like the first photo, it matches up with your words so perfectly.

  5. that is the PERFECT way to put it and also these shots are PERFECT.
yeah shots of the grand canyon and other amazing places are cool, sure. But true beauty is found in the everyday, in the simple things, the things that are all around us…like this.
    Much love, Sarah!

  6. It's just like that here too, it's warm in the day, but as soon as 7pm rolls round it's cold and my house is freezing. The only reason I don't put my heating on is on principle that's in now April, but damn it's chilly at night!

Gorgeous photos too! I love all the clouds and that funky neighbourhood sign!
